Multi-million-pound development – Home Park Road, London SW19

Wing Waterproofing were asked to undertake in the design and supply of a waterproofing system to a new residential basement development within the Wimbledon area. Our aim was to provide a system to Grade 3 in accordance with BS 8102 2022 to all areas of the basement structure.

This basement structure is highly complex and formed over three levels, with a high hydrostatic pressure present to the deeper levels, Wing designed a combined waterproofing system using both Type A and Type C form of waterproofing.

Once the basement was formed from reinforced concrete we carried out our initial Type A cementitious application to all the retaining walls and slabs throughout as an initial barrier protection to minimise any possible groundwater ingress entering the basement. Once complete, we then installed our Type C cavity drain membrane system with the perimeter channels guiding any groundwater to the sump pump systems.

We attended design meetings early in the project, so the waterproofing design was firmed up prior to the structure being formed that was beneficial to the Team. This impressive basement will consist of a multi-car garage, large games room, numerous pools and even a climbing wall that will now be risk-free from groundwater.
