Pump Installations and Commissioning

A sump pump system consists of mechanical pumps sitting within a pit in the ground (a sump) that activates once a certain level of water has entered the sump pump chamber. Wing Waterproofing can design, supply, install and maintain the appropriate pump system for the following:

Groundwater sump pump systems
When installing our Type C cavity drain membrane systems, a groundwater sump pump systems forms part of this design to pump any groundwater out and away from your basement area that may collect from behind the membrane.

Wing install and commission hundreds of these systems every year as part of our specialist waterproofing installation, that often consists of automatic twin pumps, a battery back-up system in case of a power failure within the home and an alarm system to alert the occupier of any issues.

Foul and grey water sump pump systems
A foul water sump pump system is designed to deal with waste and sewage water including solids from basement, or lowered areas of the property where draining straight into the gravity system is not possible. This sump pump system usually deals with bathroom waste, kitchen waste and plant/equipment wastewater and the pumps must be designed accordingly.

Often in large basement developments, or commercial lower ground areas a foul water sump pump system is required and Wing Waterproofing can assist with this system, that can be of different sizes and scope.

Storm water sump pump systems
The storm water pump system is a dedicated separate sump to deal with external rainwater, or surface water collecting in an area below-ground. These systems are usually installed externally to basement lightwells, patio areas, or garden areas where draining into the gravity system is un-achievable.

We can recommend and design the correct system to the appropriate size depending on the surface area draining into the sump.

This is a newly designed platform from Newton’s to monitor sump pump systems and Wing will be involved in installing this to both old and new sump pump systems.
